Who is Hans Zimmer?

Hans Zimmer is a German born score composer and music producer. He has composed music for over 100 films including Sherlock Holmes, The Dark Knight, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Gladiator, Pearl Harbor, The Lion King, and The Da Vinci Code. Hans first enjoyed success in the world of pop music as a member of The Buggles. The group’s single “Video Killed the Radio Star” became a worldwide hit and helped usher in a new era of global entertainment as the first music video to be aired on MTV. He experienced the turning point in his career as a composer when he composed the score for “Rain Man” in 1988 and the following year when he composed the score for “Driving Miss Daisy”. He then cemented his place in the composing industry with the award winning score for the Lion King in 1994. Since then Hans has gone on to win numerous awards and produce hundreds of award winning works. Hans is now the head of the film music division at DreamWorks Studios and works with many other composers through his company Remote Control Productions. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Suzanne and their four children.
